REGULATIONS FOR THE MASTER OF COMMERCE IN TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY ENTERPRISES MANAGEMENT DEGREE (MTHM)

Overview

  1. PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME
  • To develop advanced knowledge, skills and competencies in the field of Tourism and Hospitality enterprise management.
  • To prepare students for further studies, entrepreneurial roles and lifelong learning in tourism and hospitality management.
  • ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
    • Normal Entry

To qualify for entry into the Master of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Enterprises  Management degree, a student should have a minimum of a good Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management with a (2,1or better) or  an equivalent qualification. The student should also have a minimum of two years working experience in the industry.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AND FURTHER EDUCATION

The following are possible areas of employment for the Master’s degree in Tourism and hospitality enterprises management graduates hotels, lodges, consultancy, casinos, national parks, airlines, tour operations and pursuing doctoral studies. In addition, with the emphasis today on small businesses, many graduates find great success in starting their own businesses.
