The Department of Regional and Urban planning falls under the Faculty of Built Environment, Art and Design. The Department was established in 2023 with the mandate of delivering Education 5.0, that is, teaching, research, community service and engagement, innovation and industrialiasation. The Department of Regional and Urban Planning strives to be one of the best planning schools in the country and in the region, through training of competent Regional and Urban Planning Practitioners, conducting research which will address community and national problems and proffer solutions and innovations which will lead to the realisation of National Development Goals such as Vision 2030. The Department of Regional and Urban Planning is affiliated with the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (ZIRUP) and works in close cooperation with national and local government departments in training of students, curriculum development, capacity building and practical research which leads to innovation and industrialisation
