In a resounding endorsement of its visionary approach, Midlands State University (MSU) has seized the prestigious Southern African Research and Innovation Management Association (SARIMA) Excellence Award for Organisational Growth in Innovation Management.

This accolade propels MSU into the vanguard of African academia, cementing its status as a beacon of pioneering thought and transformative impact.

The honour was bestowed at the illustrious 2025 SARIMA International Conference in Cape Town.

Under the compelling theme, ‘Expect the Unexpected: Unlocking the Value of Research and Innovation Management,’ the event gathered the continent’s finest minds—a fitting arena to celebrate MSU’s extraordinary achievements.

It applauds the monumental strides taken to fortify innovation management: the systems, the structures, and, most importantly, the vibrant culture that turns a spark of an idea into a tangible force for progress.

Representing the University with immense pride, Dr. S. Chitima accepted the award on behalf of Professor G. Mehlana, Acting Executive Director of the Research and Innovation Division.

Forging ahead, MSU remains unwaveringly dedicated to this mission.

This award isn’t an endpoint; it is a launchpad.

The future, brilliantly inventive, is already being built at MSU.
